Blood and Iron: A Novel of the Promethean Age (Book 1)

Elizabeth Bear puts folklore and legend to good use in this excellent fantasy novel. It’s nice to read a novel where the story line can actually surprise you. It did take me a couple of chapters to really get into the story line. When I did get sucked in I really did enjoy it. The storyline is complex and intricate but the book is full of intrigue and plotting and it’s hard to tell what a character might do. I think it is an excellent fantasy novel and any fantasy enthusiast should give it a try.
