I could not put this book down and I finished it in three days. I don't want to say much about the story because I don't want to spoil it. If you like fictional accounts of WWII as experienced through the lives of the victims of the Jewish Holocaust this book is an excellent choice. It's a great account of how history and the lessons taught through history should affect us as individuals in a modern day society. I love the way it's written--every other chapter is written from the viewpoint of one of two people's persectives. The chapters are short and as a result it's easy to come to a stopping point....not that you will want to.... I can not say enough good things about this book.

Shanghai Girls: A Novel

Great story capturing the relationship between two sisters whose life experiences and tragedies create both a bond and divide between them . This book gave insight into the lives of two young women in China during the years leading up to WWII and how Chinese Immigrants were treated in the United States following the Japanese bombing of Pear Harbor. Shanghai Girls is a great story but is one of tragedy and how that tragedy molds the character and personalities of two sisters.

This book has made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions. The main character, Juliet, is very amusing in a Bridgette Jones sort-of-way. I am loving it and can't wait to finish the last twenty pages tonight.

I finished this one last week. Excellent; I highly recommend it. The main character, Juliet,is endearing and comical. It may be tough to get through the first few chapters, but it's worth it in the end.
