August 2012

Hey BBers!

They say these are the Dog Days of Summer. So... in the spirit of the Dog Days I've decided that this dog (who has not gotten much credit to date) needs to take over this little dog and pony show. That is correct, this NewzBundlz issue is being brought to you by me, Wrigley. You may have seen me around the site. They've got pictures of me laying on the couch and currently participating in their summer book club get-together.

Please note in the photo on the home page how polite I am being, yet despite all the puppy-dog eyes I was throwing at everyone, no food made it's way to my end of the table…

… Wait a minute, I think I hear something… nope, no, sorry I was wrong, false alarm, I thought it was the can opener. Gosh, I love the canned food. I get it twice a week and let me just say, "deeeelish!"

Oh, but these books smell pretty good...

…What were we talking about again? Oh, the photo! Yeah, so I got no treats at that book club gathering, though (just between you and me) right after this photo was taken I did try to casually walk (and by that I mean dart) in front of Nick in the hopes of knocking down his tray, but that dude has quicker reflexes than you would think. I so wish the camera had still been rolling because the "dance moves" he did could have been a YouTube sensation!

Speaking of that, what is up with YouTube videos and cats? Seriously, no way are cats cuter than dogs! It's an outrage. We are due our time!! Stupid cats! They are stupid. I mean they poop in the HOUSE! HELLO!!! I learned not to do that a long time ago! Get some brains fur balls! Well maybe that is why they get the YouTube attention - they are always doing dumb things...

...Oh, but look at this – a book bus – it's not dumb at all! Plus it has wheels. Do you know how many good scents are on wheels? Sniff patrol jackpot!...

Literacy News:

Bess the Book Bus is a mobile literacy outreach dedicated to getting books into the homes of underprivileged and underrepresented children and families. We travel to schools, community centers, shelters, and after-school programs conducting read-alouds and giving away new books. Our goal is to build home libraries for our children while generating enthusiasm for the reading experience. The 2012 Success is in Sight tour will allow us to reach 20,000+ families in 44 states and give away more than 100,000 books.

Oh, if the whole world could read, what a world it would be!

… Now where was I? Oh yeah, the snacks. Despite the lack of snacks coming my way at these get-togethers, I must admit I love them! The peeps in attendance are always keen to scratch my ears and even better my "backside" - and let me tell you, there is no dog out there that doesn't like a good butt scratch! Even the poodles like that. Though the ones I know don't seem to like much else… especially that jumpy one down the block!…

Well, now these look like some books the book club peeps would like...

Wait, was that a squirrel?... Ah, crumbs, it's outside and I can't get to it anyway. If they would let me out that squirrel would be MINE! Did you see that squirrel the other day? I swear I almost caught him and he is like the fastest squirrel in town. Yeah, for real. I almost caught him. If I hadn't been on the leash I totally would have caught him...

Hmm? What? Oh, I'm getting off track here again… Oh yeah, the book clubs! They are quite wonderful and on behalf of dogs everywhere, please throw more of these get-togethers and be sure to let your dogs attend. Though my recommendation is that in the future you provide snacks for ALL in attendance. Hear me? ALL IN ATTENDANCE! That's right, dogs are people too and we need our snacks!

… Oh, wait, what is that? Oh, yeah! The cheese drawer in the fridge just opened. Red alert! The cheese drawer is open! Gotta run!!

Snacking on a cheese stick and
headed off for a nap to dream about book club butt scratches,
Wrigley
